So, you have a “horse lover”??
… trailer them to the barn!!
Sometimes an hour lesson is just not
enough; so maybe an All-Day package may fit their passion. The cost is
$50.00 and the day includes a riding lesson and LOTS OF TIME AROUND HORSES!! It’s just a way for the horse-crazy-child to have additional time at the barn.
All-Day privilege is by instructor approval- lesson students only. Any student's extra barn time is an opportunity for a student to learn and practice integrity, responsibility, and success while being around what they love- HORSES! Extended time spent after a riding lesson is helping with barn chores. Although horse care is fun, each chore is a responsibility to be done well. This additional non-riding time at the barn is to provide an opportunity so you are not paying every minute your child wants to be around horses but you are paying for your child to have supervision.
Also, more time at the barn is a great way for lesson students to become a “Barn Critter” (11 yrs and older). Our younger helpers “Barn Critters in Training” (8-10 yr. olds or younger with parent/adult help) is a group to be respected. A BCIT is an apprentice to enable them to become an official “Barn Critter.” Each BCIT requires supervision, detailed instruction, and assistance completing chores. Their time at the barn is coordinated with a BC or instructor.
Many summer counselors, camp wranglers, and Jr. Instructors have gained their skills as Barn Critters!!!
The chores that BCs and BCITs help with are mostly the “grunt” work of caring for the horses. These behind-the-scene chores show the riders exactly what it takes to care for a horse and become a respected horseman.
The chores are non-riding and most of the time hard grungy work…
so wear your work clothes!
Barn Critters and Barn Critters in Training
develop into a big help
and are most appreciated!!!
