Our livestock focus has been based on several different factors. Our primary objective was to grow our own meat to supply our small family of 5, as simply and cost-effective as possible. Since caring for so many variations of animals can be time consuming and costly our next goal was to make the farm as self-sufficient and self-sustainable as possible. For this reason we have chosen to breed and raise mostly heritage breeds that can live off the land naturally and reproduce with as little assistance from us as possible. We still have some very hard work ahead of us to get the farm where we want it but we take pride in what we slowly accomplish each day. Here’s a glimpse into the different types of feathered and furry residents we have on the farm.
